Heather met with the HTA (Horticultural Trades Association) and representatives from two member businesses. Laura and John Jackson from Swarkestone Nursery and Darren Sanders from Garden King hosted visits to discuss the key issues facing the industry.
Heather, on Monday morning, visited Findern Primary School to meet the Headteacher, Mrs Fox and to be shown the newly opened Eco-Garden by the lead teacher, Ms Caroline Preston and the students who are members of the Eco Committee team.

Heather was very grateful to attend the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Action Week MP Drop-In event today. Many of Heathers Constituents contacted Heather in the run up to this event describing Dementia as the worst possible Health Diagnosis anyone could get by losing someone effectively twice.
TechxFest is the first event of its kind in the UK and provides an opportunity for employers to promote technical careers to Year 9 and 10 students from the East Midlands.
I wanted to share this great local project with you all. Church Broughton Tennis Club contacted me and are hoping to raise £20,000 through crowd funding for a new clubhouse.
Heather recently visited The Granville Academy in Midway and spoke to the Year 11 assembly. The school organises Career Assemblies for Year 11 and Heather was part of this program. The Granville Academy has recently been awarded a gold for safeguarding.
