It was great to join Rolls-Royce in Parliament last week at the launch of their Nuclear Skills Academy based in Derby. I met apprentices who shared their career aspirations in nuclear engineering.

Tree planting at Cadley Park

Heather visited Cadley Park on the edge of Swadlincote, where she planted a tree as part of the Free Tree Scheme, a tree-planting campaign to celebrate the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II.

Visit to Coton-in-the-Elms Primary School

Heather visited Coton-in-the-Elms CE (VC) Primary School in Swadlincote.  Coton-in-the-Elms has run a hugely successful annual School Parliament for several years, in which the 142 pupils aged 5-11 elect their own Prime Minister.

In August this year the leaders of Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, and Nottinghamshire County Council signed up to work on a £1.14 billion devolution deal with the Government.

Charity Donation Day at Truma UK Ltd

Heather joined the staff at Truma Limited for their Charity Donation Day.  Truma organised this event to give the money raised by the firm and their staff to three charities the NSPCC, Rainbows and Me & Dee.  The cheques were accepted by Tracey Davenport and Barbara Elsey at NSPCC, Kirsty Cox

Macmillan’s Coffee Morning at MIH Solutions

Heather joined the Macmillan Coffee morning organised by the constituency office neighbours, MIH Solutions.

Macmillan Cancer supports people living with cancer by providing physical, financial and emotional support.
