In October I had the pleasure of hosting a reception at The House of Commons to celebrate 25 years of The National Forest. What an enormous asset The National Forest is to South Derbyshire and the Midlands.
When I moved here in the 1980s I wanted to become involved and part of the local community. I
became a local Councillor, attended events and played whatever part I could to help, something I have continued to do since becoming your MP in 2010.
This week Parliament returned from one of the busiest Conference seasons of recent years. I know some will see it as bias, but the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham really was the only one which set out a clear path and commitment to working for the people of the UK.
