COVID-19 Updated guidelines

The Prime Minister has announced some changes to the current restrictions. These changes will come into effect as of Wednesday the 13th of May in England, rules in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland maybe different. The following changes have been made:

New Job Seeker websites launched

At this present time employment is a concern on many people’s minds, both for job seekers and employers. In response to these challenges the Department for Work and Pensions has launched two new websites.

69,000 Bounce Back Loans approved.

As the government strives to do all can to support businesses, so far, 69,000 Bounce Back Loans worth over £2 billion have been approved in just the first 24 hours.

Track and tracing App test run.

To minimise the spread of the Coronavirus, we need to be able to track where it is. As we hit our target of 100,000 tests a day we must now work to track the virus. That is why I am pleased to hear a new app will be tested from today on the Isle of White to speed up contact tracing.

Many people find themselves sitting at home as businesses have temporarily closed, but now can be the perfect time to learn new skills and develop. I am pleased that a new online learning platform has been set up to help boost the nations skills.

New Bounce Back Loan for Businesses in South Derbyshire.

I am pleased that the Chancellor has announced this the new Bounce Back loan to support small businesses in South Derbyshire . Many small businesses have been the most exposed to the impact of the coronavirus.
