We are leaving the EU because it is a good thing for our country in general and I do not believe agriculture will be adversely affected by Brexit.

Out and about in the community.

When I moved here in the 1980s I wanted to become involved and part of the local community. I
became a local Councillor, attended events and played whatever part I could to help, something I have continued to do since becoming your MP in 2010.

Conservative Party Conference 2016.

This week Parliament returned from one of the busiest Conference seasons of recent years. I know some will see it as bias, but the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham really was the only one which set out a clear path and commitment to working for the people of the UK.

Over the last few weeks 18 years olds from South Derbyshire have been starting University and College courses and their new, independent lives away from home.

My First Weeks as a Government Whip.

The new Government has hit the ground running making an excellent start before Parliament rose for Summer Recess. The new Prime Minister had a huge reshuffle of Ministers and I am delighted to say the Midlands is well represented. 

Full employment is the future for South Derbyshire.

At one time full employment for our area seemed an unachievable goal but now it is within our grasp. In South Derbyshire we have seen unemployment fall steadily with the most recent figures for July showing there are now 391 people seeking work.
