Full employment is the future for South Derbyshire.

At one time full employment for our area seemed an unachievable goal but now it is within our grasp. In South Derbyshire we have seen unemployment fall steadily with the most recent figures for July showing there are now 391 people seeking work.

Over recent weeks we have been experiencing the iconic British Summer weather with some high temperatures with more forecast. The heat invites us to cool down and one of the ways to do this is have a refreshing swim, but unfortunately this can sometimes end in tragedy.

Roadworks announced for A511 East between Burton and South Derbyshire.

Constituents should be aware that from August 22nd to September 12th (three weeks) part of Ashby Road East (the A511 that runs between Burton and South Derbyshire) will be closed off from traffic whilst needed road maintenance and essential gas works are completed.

Age UK Pimms & Pud - Event Announcement.

Our excellent newly opened retirement village 'Richmond Village' in Aston on Trent have contacted me about a charity event they are hosting in aid of Age UK.
