Stop Governmemt Plans for Thousands of Houses in South Derbyshire

I met with residents from Mickleover Country Park and Mickleover to talk about the Government's plans to impose thousands of new homes in South Derbyshire.

They were delighted that our Shadow Housing Minister Grant Shapps was able to meet, to listen and to talk to them.  This meeting was held in Mickleover overlooking our South Derbyshire fields, organised with Stephen Mold our Candidate in Derby North.

The target is 12,000 new homes.  So far local landowners and interested developers have offered up land for 43,000 homes!

This is causing grave concern and pitting community against community.

Let us be clear.  A new Conservative Government will scrap this target. Scrap this process and leave the local Authority to determine the numbers and style of growth that it needs based on the desire of the residents.

We are holding lots of drop in sessions around South Derbyshire and have extended the consutaltion to 28th May.  For more information onthe process now check out South Derbyshire District Council's web site www.south-derbys.gov.uk

You have two ways to help, one is to write in to the Council and express your oppostition to these new homes and two to vote Cosnervative to scrap the process immediately.
