Queen's Hospital CT Scanner Appeal Launch

Queen's Hospital Scanner Appeal

Tonight saw the launch of the CT Scanner appeal at the Pirelli Stadium.

Jim Morrison, Chairman of the Hospital, and Ben Robinson, Chairman of Burton Albion Football did a great double act around Hilda, Lady Clarke and Sir Trevor Brooking from the FA.

We heard important community reasons why we should get behind the Appeal and also detailed medical facts from top Consultant Mr Sheldon.

40% of patients are from South Derbyshire, indeed our daughter Harriet was born there, so it is my hospital too.

Please see the information below that will help you organise an event to raise money for this good cause, every hundred pounds adds up. Thank you.

Queen's Hospital
Our old CT scanner is nearing the end of its life cycle.
We want to replace it with a new, state of the art scanner.
£500,000 Target:
for a new CT scanner
We currently scan 10,000 patients a year.
That number increases by more than 10% annually.

You can help us make a difference to patient care.
Support the Queen’s Hospital Scanner Appeal.
Why an appeal?
CT scanners are expensive items.
Hospital equipment budgets are limited.
A new scanner would use almost all of our equipment replacement
money for a year, seriously limiting other departments.
Reduced waiting times.
Improved Improved safety. patient comfort.
A new CT scanner will make a big difference to patient care.
Why do we need a new scanner?
Faster, more accurate diagnosis.
